Main objectives:

By implementing the Baltic-Adriatic axis, new traffic flows between the Baltic and Adriatic ports and their hinterland are being developed and the ports as starting and ending points of the corridor are being boosted.

Such a reinforced network in Central Europe strengthens significantly the infrastructural basis for efficient, safe and high-quality multimodal transport chains for freight and passengers.

Short description:

The Baltic-Adriatic Corridor links major nodes (urban nodes, ports, airports and other transport terminals) through key rail, road, maritime and air transport connections from North to South.

    Construction

    A number of corridor actions are currently underway. With regard to the railway network, a significant part of the lines included in the corridor have been or are undergoing modernization works. The works are underway in the 2021-2027 financial perspective to ensure stable progress. With regard to the road component, only the section covering the northern exit from Warsaw is not covered by the implementation (construction works) at the moment - implementation is planned in the near future and by 2030 the TEN-T parameters will be achieved.

Budget:

Total 82.1 billion euro. While more than 59,3% of the budget expenditure is already covered by approved funds, an additional € 33.4 billion would be needed to implement relevant projects.
