Development of serial production of M3 class electric buses

The ongoing project is fully compliant to the EU’s sustainable and smart mobility strategy.

In line with the European Union's strategic goal of the Green Deal to reduce air pollution from transport, electric or other high-tech buses will have to replace all conventional fossil fuel-powered public transport in the next few decades. Development of serial production facility will enable DANCER to become European scale producer and to offer green energy transport solutions to the EU market. Furthermore, DANCER electric bus is built in accordance with the principles of sustainability and circular economy: recycled materials are used in production; the electricity for Dancer buses is purchased exclusively from wind farms; buses are extremely energy efficient, nearly vibration-free, have advanced noise reduction measures.

“Vėjo projektai” have joined the Green Consumption Pledge, the first initiative of the European Commission, delivered under the New Consumer Agenda, as a part of the European Climate Pact.

JSC “Vėjo projektai” project proposal “Ultra-light electric city bus created to change urban transportation habits” in Horizon 2020 - the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation 2014-2020 was scored as a high-quality by the European Commission.

JSC „Vėjo projektai“ and JSC „Elektrinio transporto sistemos“ are developers of Dancer bus, including charging infrastructure and battery development. JSC „Elektrinio transporto sistemos“ will further investing in elaborate R&D program to maintain competitive edge and ensure DANCER’s technical leadership in the market. JSC "Vėjo projektai" will perform production functions and accordingly carry out a mass production development project.

Beneficiaries of climate neutral electric buses in public transport system will be the whole of society through significant decrease in the transport sector’s emissions what will lead to reduction of the health impacts and the climate change impacts of air pollution.

Electric buses are much quieter which will reduce the share of people chronically disturbed by transport noise.

Due to the composite material used, the weight of the bus is significantly lower, which results in less damage to the road infrastructure and consequently reduces its maintenance costs.
