Short description:

Сurrently, a preliminary feasibility study for the construction of the Rivnenska NPP-Chelm, Novovolynska-Chelm, Lviv-Krosno and Drohobych-Krosno overhead power lines is conducted, as well as ways to finance construction projects and include these power lines in the Ten-Year Network Development Plan of Ukraine and ENTSO-E.

The expansion of interconnection capacities will be driven by actual needs, supported by detailed market and technical studies, as well as an assessment of their impact on the region's energy security.

The development of the cross-border infrastructure between Poland and Ukraine should take into account the entire synchronous profile, i.e. all existing cross-border connections of Ukraine with the overall situation in the continental European system, as well as the technical requirements.

These factors are important for any considerations for new or existing cross-border connections and will be carefully worked out by the two operators with the involvement of ENTSO-E.

As part of the relevant work, all issues will be investigated and a rationale for additional development of interconnectors between the power system of Ukraine and ENTSO-E will be prepared.
