Short description:

The project entails the reconstruction of railway stations along the Oštarije – Knin – Split Railroad Line. When the other devices at the stations up to Split are put into operation, a total of 29 stations and 11 check-out offices will be created, which will be managed from the central location in Knin, which, is one of the largest stations in Croatia. After the installation of the new electronic signalling and safety devices at the stations, as well as remote control and removal of bottlenecks, the journey from Zagreb to Split will be significantly shortened to four and a half hours. In the first phase of the project (Oštarije – Gračac), 12 railway stations and 6 block instruments were installed. In the second phase (Gračac – Knin, including the Knin railway station), there has been substantial progress in modernizing 5 railway stations and 3 block instruments. In the third phase (Knin – Split, Split included), equipment has been procured, most of the project documentation has been procured as well, while some construction permits for the 12 railway stations and 3 block instruments have also been obtained. The fourth phase entails managing the entire system from the central location in Knin through the CTC Centralized Traffic Control System (equipment procured in 2005).
